Lots going on lately. To catch up, here's a few shots from mid October. The above was taken just after I got sick of the Euphorbia marginata and cut them down.
These chrysanthemums were one of the first things I added to this garden and, aside from a bit of flopping, they've done well every year.
Cypress vine (Ipomea quamoclit) won the battle for our front fence and even decided to venture over to our neighbor's. I'm generally leary of vines as they are so often ill behaved, but this annual is beautiful and stays more or less under control. I got the seeds from Monticello when we were there in October '05.
All the pots I had sitting out on the steps have come inside. On the right are two new plants I got from the Wave Hill plant sale. A Hibiscus 'Plum Crazy' and a Begonia grandis. I also added a little allium w/ curled foliage.
I finally dug out those iris psuedacorus like I said I would, but then I couldn't figure out a new place for them. Shamefully they've been sitting here ever since. Did I ever show you this Fred-Flintstone-bowling-ball-rock we found? I didn't think so.
Here's another bit of a mess I allowed... ah well. It will all soon be frozen.
