Nutty! Did you read this article about black squirrels and where they (maybe) come from? http://chicagowildernessmag.org/issues/summer2005/squirrels.html Yours might be descended from fox squirrels if you're in the NE. The Chicago-area ones seem to be "color morphs" of the gray squirrel. Genetic weirdness, either way, resulting in something pretty darn cute (if pesky)!
